Anna is a Hampshire-based artist with a particular interest in the narrative created by people occupying a landscape.
With a degree in Illustration, Anna has been doing commissions for many years. Recently, she has had time to focus on some self-directed paintings. Working predominantly in acrylics on canvas, Anna loves adding interesting mark-making to her work and enjoys building up layers of complementary colours. She tries to keep the style free and not overly finished – allowing the viewer to fill in the gaps. She likes to capture the atmosphere of a place and is particularl drawn to buildings, figures and nostalgic objects. Anna finds beauty in unusual places such as a row of empty shop fronts. Her studio in the garden is a light and calm space to create.
