Tilly comes from a family of artists and has lived and worked in Somerset most of her life. Usually painting from life and mainly in oil, Tilly’s eclectic work depicts quirky still-lifes, her love of the local landscape and travel pictures inspired by roaming around in the less visited corners of the world.
An established portrait painter, Tilly enjoys the challenge of commission work, utilizing her skills of observation to create a lasting impression of her sitter. She has exhibited with the RSPP and been shortlisted for the BP Portrait Award. Well known sitters include paralympian Ade Adepitan and Dawn French.
A practicing artist for many years, she is also known internationally for her evocative paintings of Africa, many of which have been published as cards, prints, calendars and book covers.
Tilly exhibits both nationally and locally and regularly opens her studio during Somerset Art Weeks.
