Alexandra Beteeva is a Glasgow-based artist. Her work explores roots as the cornerstone of identity in a rapidly changing environment.
Working from memory as well as cropped images, she sets stages and choreographs its inhabitants, creating a pictorial world where figures cannot exist without the space and the space cannot exist without the figures. Alexandra graduated with a BA in Painting and Printmaking from Glasgow School of Art in 2022, and is a recipient of the Euan Stewart Memorial Prize for Printmaking and the RSA New Contemporaries award. Recent exhibitions include the RSA Annual Show (2021); and the VAS Annual Exhibition (2022).
