Amanda likes to compose an unusual view of a traditional subject or to paint more ‘quirky’ subjects.
Trained in Fine Art at Brighton and Chelsea Art Schools, Amanda worked as a commercial designer and illustrator before deciding to concentrate on painting in 2018.
Since her appearance on Landscape Artist of the Year, Amanda has become known for her ‘plein air’ landscapes. Her work includes traditional landscapes but she also likes the challenge to paint more unusual subjects:
gasometers, industrial buildings peeking out of rural landscapes, railway crossings, etc.
Recently she has also been exploring life drawing and portraiture alongside her landscape work.
