Andrew Barrowman

biography

Andrew is a Cornwall based artist who works in the landscape, most often preferring to work en plein air (on location).

He loves exploring ‘off the beaten track’ and always seeks out alternative views of familiar places. He records these by creating a number of sketches, using a variety of media, in his daily sketchbook. These sketches are then used as unique references for his final paintings and drawings in oils and charcoal.

In May 2023 he was elected Associate Member of Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, and in June 2023, he was elected Full Member of the Pastel Society. He exhibits regularly with RBSA in Birmingham, NEAC and Pastel Society in London. In 2021 he won the Bowyer Drawing Prize at the New English Art Club annual exhibition.
