Cathy is a lino printmaker, specialising in depicting the natural landscape.
Cathy is an Irish artist working in the mediums of lino print and more recently drawing. Her practice surrounds depicting the rural Irish countryside, and the effects various agricultural practices have upon the landscape. A key focus is the practices farmers are making to actively combat climate change. A unique style of lino print is found in Cathy’s work, where a mixture of abstract textures, flat shapes and various lines create her unusual lino prints.
She holds a degree in Fine Art from Crawford College of Art and Design, and has exhibited at many different art festivals and galleries including Kinsale Arts weekend, Kilkenny Arts week, and the Clarendon Fine Art Gallery in Mayfair. Her work has also been part of government-funded exhibitions such as with Teagasc (the Irish Agricultural organisation for research) in Johnstown Castle, County Wexford. As well as this, she has also been awarded various bursaries and grants from the Arts Council of Ireland to create a series of lino prints of iconic Irish landscapes.
