Cristina Celestini
Cristina is mostly a self-taught artist, and her work is inspired by the nature of memory and human feelings.
Cristina was born in Rome but has been living in Birmingham for over 30 years.
Cristina works within a figurative tradition with a love of detail, realism and the rendering of light and shade. Her main medium is pencil and coloured pencils, as she tries to explore and experiment with line and the layering of colours to achieve unexpected effects. She is an Associate member of the Society of Graphic and Fine Arts, and regularly exhibits in London as well as the rest of England. In 2022, Cristina took part in Portrait Artist of the Year and was shortlisted for the ING Discerning Eye Drawing Bursary. Her work is in private and public collections in Britain and in Europe.
