David Hamilton
David is an award-winning artist from Northern Ireland.
David studied at both undergraduate and graduate level at the University of Ulster and has worked extensively throughout Europe as a scenic artist and art director, producing themed sets for the entertainment industry.
He started making his own work in 2008 and since then has exhibited with The Royal Academy, London, The Royal Ulster Academy, Belfast, The Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin and The National Gallery of Ireland, Dublin. His work has also been shortlisted for the BP Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery and the John Moores Painting Prize, Liverpool.
He likes to describe his work as deriving mainly from his interactions with people from which he is constantly creating a dairy of shared life experiences both real and reimagined.
