Fiona Bell Currie

biography

Fiona trained as an art teacher at Goldsmiths’ in the 1970s, specialising in etching. She taught all ages from secondary schools to art college and finally set up adult classes. Fiona’s life has been divided between teaching, illustrating and designing gardens. After forty years she exchanged London for the brilliant light of Chichester and is constantly excited at every turn; the richly rounded South Downs, the sparkling light at the coast, the wide vistas at Petworth and the tremendous wealth of jolly good art at the Pallant House Gallery. There is is so much to paint and time is running out! Fiona started portraiture in the last year having watched Portrait Artist of the Year and is now hooked. She continues to thoroughly enjoy teaching adults once a week and contributes to local events encouraging others to try painting and drawing.
