biography

Born into a family of artists, Geoffrey has always drawn and painted. After studying fine art at university, he took a break from art and spent time studying and teaching in Japan. He came back to the UK to do a Masters degree in London and began painting and drawing again. During this period, he was artist in residence at St. Bart’s Pathology Museum before doing a Leverhulme Trust Residency at the Royal Veterinary College.
Geoffrey’s portraiture career began when he was a finalist for the Royal Society of Portrait Painters’ Bulldog Bursary in 2012. More recently, he was a 2022 Sequestered Portrait Prize winner and won the Cass Art prize at the 2021 Cambridge Invitational. He has been selected for the Royal Society of Portrait Painters’ annual exhibition and the Discerning Eye show, as well as the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists Portrait prize exhibition.

He regularly works to commission and has work in a number of notable collections.

One of Geoffrey’s most enjoyable recent projects was for Portrait Artist of the Week, where he painted broadcaster Samira Ahmed live on social media and television.

Geoffrey is a member of the prestigious Contemporary British Portrait Painters collective.
