Howard loves to paint figurative work showing emotions and daily life experiences, fascinated by their expressions, feelings and moods.
Howard Mason has always loved painting. He is inspired by Lucien Freud, Paula Rega and Jenny Saville. He tries to capture the mystery of inner dialogue outwardly expressed. He likes to paint people and ideas for his work often come to him out of the blue, but he also gets inspiration from current affairs and music – especially song titles.
His paintings have been featured in Artist & Illustrator, and his ‘Little Book of Portraits’ was published by Quadrille. He has exhibited at the Mall Galleries, Bath Artist’s Annual Exhibition and RWA Annual Exhibition, as well as in competitions and private galleries in Bristol, Malvern, Bath and ArtExpertise, Florence.
