biography

From Whitehead, Northern Ireland, Kenny has a BA Hons in Illustration from Brighton University. From which followed a 12-year career in illustration, publishing amongst others with Penguin Books, Mandarin Books, Faber and Faber and Sceptre Books on works including an award-winning series of John Steinbeck classics.

A career in portrait and landscape painting naturally followed. With a continuous presence in the annual Royal Society of Portrait Painters Show, The Mall Galleries London, Kenny’s loose textured style has produced prestigious contemporary portrait commissions such as of Sir James Galway, Sir Michael Checkland, John Hume Nobel Laureate and Ciaran Hinds. His works are found in the collection of HRH Princess Anne, The Phoenix Art Museum and The Arts Council of Northern Ireland.

Between commissions Kenny has used his extensive knowledge to create numerous old masters replicas for discerning clients.
