Lewis is a figurative artist working predominantly in oil. He has developed a distinctive technique that boldly represents the everyday.
Since the creation of his self portrait and the devoted practice and preparation for the show, Lewis has become increasingly self aware of his work. His paintings now blend realism with an exploration of shape and colour, bold lines and sharp corners depicting his individualistic outlook.
Some would say the likeness of a portrait is at the forefront of its success and Lewis would probably agree, but the development of his work has made him appreciate the importance of capturing time and movement.
