Michael Sheppard
Michael, AKA MJ The Art Traveller, is a London-based mixed-media artist who goes travelling to understand the environment he sees.
Michael, also known as, MJ The Art Traveller has a Masters and BA degree in Fine Art and has gone on to publicly sell work at craft fairs and Market events in London and Warwickshire (e.g. Artisan East, Old Spitalfields Market). He works as a Customer Service Advisor for Jacksons Art Supplies, selling, paintbrushes and artist materials.
The relationship through ways of seeing and portrait drawing started with various trips to Scotland, including to Oban Harbour, during 2016. These moments were photographed and drawn into a sketchbook self-portrait.
In 2022, he was shortlisted to exhibit the Oban Harbour work at Portrait Artist of the Year exhibition at Compton Verney Museum and Art Gallery, Warwickshire.
