biography

Based in Scotland, Peter is a graduate of Glasgow School of Art, a member of the Paisley Art Institute and has exhibited regularly in various national exhibitions. His work is held in public collections such as the Scottish Arts Council and the Lanarkshire Education Collection, as well as private collections in Europe and the USA, including hotelier Bob Costley, authors Ian Rankin and Quintin Jardine, entrepreneur Tom Hunter, folk singer Kate Rusty, musician John McCusker and opera singer Marie McLaughlin.

Peter works with acrylic paint using a dry brush technique working from a dark surface through to colour and light with an awareness of the effectiveness of the contrast between strong shadows and bright sunlight. He developed his landscapes and seascapes travelling from Glasgow to Tuscany via France and Switzerland as well as visiting Southern California to create work full of a sense of place.
