Richard Kitson

Richard Kitson is primarily known for his portraiture and figurative works, which often depict family members and friends.
Working at his studio in Barnsley, many of Kitson’s works are painted directly from his sitter. Kitson feels that this method allows his work to evolve naturally during the course of the painting process and brings a collaborative element to each portrait. Kitson has exhibited in the UK, including at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and internationally. Kitson has also completed commissions for private clients and gallery collections.
