Richard is a self-taught Lancashire-based artist who derives inspiration for his landscape works from his love of his local area.
Originally from Keighley, Yorkshire, Richard currently lives in a small town in Lancashire.
Growing up as a young boy, Richard excelled in art and was passionately off drawing or practising watercolours of the surrounding countryside on his doorstep. In 1989, Richard attended West Craven High School in Lancashire where the pursuit of his love for art continued, honing his skills further and getting noticed by his tutors and family for his natural talent with a pencil and draughtmanship. Since college he has continued to teach himself and moved into working with oils in landscape incorporating people into some of his scenes “Mainly due to the beautiful landscape surrounding where I live “.
