biography

Originally from Keighley, Yorkshire, Richard currently lives in a small town in Lancashire.

Growing up as a young boy, Richard excelled in art and was passionately off drawing or practising watercolours of the surrounding countryside on his doorstep. In 1989, Richard attended West Craven High School in Lancashire where the pursuit of his love for art continued, honing his skills further and getting noticed by his tutors and family for his natural talent with a pencil and draughtmanship. In 1994 Richard went on to art college in Lancashire and left in 1998. Since college he has continued to teach himself and moved into working with oils in landscape incorporating people into some of his scenes “Mainly due to the beautiful landscape surrounding where I live “. Richard has also exhibited his landscapes in several well-known galleries in his area. More recently, Richard continues to fine tune his practice with portraiture in oils.
