Rosemary Firth

Rosemary-Firth Landscape artist of the year series
biography

Rosemary is a professional artist currently working predominantly in collage. She taught art at a secondary school in Doncaster, before leaving to open her own gallery. Rosemary now works from home and has had solo exhibitions in Leeds, Mexborough and Doncaster, as well as numerous open art exhibitions. Rosemary is inspired by the colours and textures of rocks, streams, snow, trees and hillsides which she creates on paper before starting on her actual collage. The creation process consists of expressive mark-making using a wide variety of media and techniques, from which she then chooses appropriate parts to be torn or cut off and placed on her drawn-out landscape.
