Scott works in traditional and digital media, oscillating between drawing, painting, illustration, and pattern design.
Beginning as an aspiring portraitist, Scott’s output has diversified in recent years to encompass a more wide-ranging exploration of the visual arts; e is now equally known for his work in pattern, constructing work inspired by design history and the forms of the natural world.
Much of Scott’s painting and drawing takes inspiration from the more esoteric reaches of the history of film – he enjoys plundering from film stills as a source of imagery.
As well as creating artwork, he teaches beginner’s art classes for community groups in Scotland.
He has work in the collection of the Dick Institute Museum in Kilmarnock, and has exhibited in Kilmarnock and Glasgow.
