Dante is a realist artist originally from Peru now based in the UK.
Dante’s work places the human subject or creation in its own everyday social setting, analysing its presence and course in the world, and demonstrates how the human gaze reveals the human character.
He paints portraits and urban landscapes from sittings and detailed photographs in oils and acrylics. He works with his own subjects and to commission.
Dante studied fine art at Universidad de Bellas Artes Ignacio Merino, Piura and Escuela Nacional Superior Autónoma de Bellas Artes del Peru “ENSABAP”, Lima. He was awarded first prize in the 20th Concurso Nacional de Artistas Jovenes Cerro Verde in 2010.
