biography

Dante’s work places the human subject or creation in its own everyday social setting, analysing its presence and course in the world, and demonstrates how the human gaze reveals the human character.  

He paints portraits and urban landscapes from sittings and detailed photographs in oils and acrylics.  He works with his own subjects and to commission. 

Dante studied fine art at Universidad de Bellas Artes Ignacio Merino, Piura and Escuela Nacional Superior Autónoma de Bellas Artes del Peru “ENSABAP”, Lima. He was awarded first prize in the 20th Concurso Nacional de Artistas Jovenes Cerro Verde in 2010.

Dante came to UK in 2015 and has since competed and exhibited in Heart of the Tribe Gallery, Bath Society of Artists, Portrait and Landscape Artist of the Year, Royal West of England Academy, Royal Society of British Artists, Wells Art Contemporary, Somerset Open Studios, National Open Art, Chelsea Art Society, X Certamen Internacional de Mini-Cuadros “Muz-Martínez”, Muestra Pictórica Regional de Piura Petro Perú.  He has won the People’s Choice Prize in four exhibitions and appeared in the exhibition publications.
