“This is my semi-final portrait of Rebecca Fergusson from Portrait Artist of the Year. It’s painted on 1cm plywood panel. I chose to work from direct observation and didn’t get the portrait finished in the time. Fortunately, I had taken some photographs and was able to complete the painting at home.”
