This painting is of a spectacular pile of weeds! Living in a rural setting Fireweed is prevalent. Its structural qualities and dramatic transformation through the seasons provide endless visual opportunities. I really enjoyed the challenge of getting the right balance of abstraction, colour palette, mark making and structure to my painting.
